How often do you hear this phrase? Or maybe you are just taking advantage of it? Passport numbers and social stereotypes often put pressure on a person, making them think that they really are not capable of active life after reaching a certain age.
Instead, history has many examples when people studied, created and learned new things at a more than respectable age:
➢ Hugo worked until the age of 83, Sophocles – until 90, Bernard Shaw – until 94.
➢ Michelangelo and Titian, Diogenes and Democritus remained creatively active in their 80s.
➢ Newton wrote scientific works at the age of 83.
➢ Goethe finished writing Faust in 80.
➢ Socrates learned to play musical instruments at the age of 70, Mark Cato at the age of 80 mastered Greek.
Previously, it was believed that the human brain takes up to 25-30 years to develop. Modern research proves that this process lasts almost twice as long. And rich mental activity ensures brain activity for several dozen (!) years.
Youth and old age are not about years, but about the state of mind. «It’s too late» is just a psychological attitude that prevents you from developing and realizing what you really want. It’s never too late. We grow old only when we allow ourselves to.
Self-expression and self-actualization are the highest-order needs, and according to Maslow, only 2% of people satisfy them. How to be among them?
First of all, forget what your passport says. Personal growth occurs regardless of age. So the best time to fulfill your aspirations and climb a step higher in spiritual development is NOW.
If you have the desire and inner strength, then you should work, study, create. If you feel a lack of energy, remember what inspires you and draw inspiration from there.
Allow yourself to live a meaningful life to the end!
