The long-awaited sequel to James Cameron’s masterpiece Avatar: The Way of Water, which was awaited since 2014, was finally released.

The director delayed the launch of the project because he did not have a perfect script. Filming began in 2017 on the California coast and continued in New Zealand. This 192-minute film can become a real feast for the eyes!

In the center of the plot is a new, larger-scale confrontation between Humans and Na’vi. Events take place mainly underwater, in the oceans of Pandora, as well as on other planets of the Alpha Centauri star system. Actors and actresses learned freediving especially for the film. While working on the film, Cameron used new animation techniques and shooting at 60 frames per second.

The main characters remained the Avatar of Jake and the Na’vi Neytiri, the characters of Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. Moreover, Grace, Sigourney Weaver’s character came back to life. Also, Kate Winslet, who plays Na’vi Ronal, joined the cast.

Simultaneously, the director worked on the third part, which is scheduled for release in December 2023. Whether the fourth and fifth films will appear depends on the box office. However, it seems that Cameron can confidently take to the camera. The premiere of the film took place on December 6, and it has already managed to collect more than $800 million at the global box office.
